Ancient Practices for a Modern World.
The Sabbath.
Set aside a 24 hour time to stop, rest, delight, and worship. We live in an age of chronic exhaustion, emotional unhealth, and spiritual stagnation. This is an essential ancient practice that requires rediscovery.
Prayer
To pause and set aside a dedicated time to intentionally be with God, shifts you into a partnership with the divine, and offers a new perspective on the world in which we find ourselves.
Fasting
One of the most essential and powerful of all the practices of Christianity and sadly, a neglected practice in the modern church. Rediscovering the fast will integrating your whole body into life with God.
Solitude
In an increasingly distracted and noisy world, we need solitude more than ever. Jesus’ showed us a rhythm of retreat and return: retreat from people and distractions to be with God, in order to return to community in love and service. Refinding this practice will reframe your capacity to serve.
Generosity
We’re made in the image of an incredibly generous God. When we practice generosity, we find a life that accesses how we were designed and helps step into God’s joy.
The Scriptures
The biblical record can connect us to God and offers to us, change. Distraction, hurry, and confusion hinder our experience with the ancient text. Rediscovering how to engage with the Scriptures will inspire transformation in your life.
Community
Despite the unprecedented connectivity of the modern era, genuine community is vanishing. Isolation, transience, and superficiality can sabotage our formation into people of mature love. But through Jesus, we enter a new kind of family that offers intimacy, joy, healing, and commitment.
Generosity
To bring justice, mercy, and reconciliation to the divisions in our world aims to bring Christ’s hope to a hurting world. Endevouring to appropriately meet and support those in emotional and/or spiritual difficulty with no agenda other than to show God’s generosity, will change the world, one life at a time.
